What’s happening !!
Congratulations to Oscar and his Mum who won the Spring Family Quiz. Well Done
Spring Playscheme – Thank you to all the children who came to holiday Bosca and helped make it lots of fun. There are feedback forms on the desk if parents and children can spare five minutes to fill it in. This will help us plan for the Summer.
We hope to start our annual revamp of our outdoor space. We are going to be painting planters and sowing sunflowers with the children. We hope to develop this area further over the next few months – fingers crossed for some better weather.

Bosca is closed on Friday 27th May and Monday 30th May.

Should there be any change made to where the sign out sheet will be we will let you know.

Thursday 2nd June
At registration you will be able to book in for the same days your child currently attends. As we have a high number of children on our waiting list if you wish to make any changes to your days please speak to Beverly ASAP to complete a waiting list form.
We will do our best to keep all parents informed of any change or cancellation to the Bosca service between now and the end of term with regards to industrial action by Janitorial staff. As previously explained if further strike action occurs and our let is cancelled we will be able to run our morning BOSCA session as normal in the church.
Glasgow City Council cancels our let on the day and often in the afternoon if strike action proceeds. We are keeping in close communication with the letting department and will communicate any information by email as soon as we receive it.
Bosca staff have been busy attending lots of training course recently and we have updated our first aid, food hygiene and infection control. This week seven of us are attending a course on promoting positive behaviour at Glasgow Clyde College and Susan, Beverly and Gemma are about to start an online training Module Level 2 Understanding Autism. We are always looking out for new topics and learning opportunities for our training programme. Please let Beverly know if you can think of any that would be relevant to the Bosca team.
We have three girls from Hyndland secondary who are volunteering with us one afternoon a week as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Pupils are sponsored by a school representative and follow our Bosca code of conduct.
We have also had interest from some boys who are hoping to volunteer with us over the next few months to complete 30 hours of service to count towards their Queens Badge from the Boys Brigade.
Please feel free to say hello they are not in purple but can be identified by their Volunteers Badge.
We had a visit from a Bosca parent to chat with the children about The Broomhill Project. The Broomhill Project is a group of local residents that has been set up by the Broomhill Community Council to look into the potential to provide a positive community outcome from the release of land that is currently the site of the Annex. We heard some great suggestions from the children including “ a playpark” , “a place for shops to buy lunch” or “even a swimming pool !”
If you would like to come in to Bosca to talk to the children about something you feel is important to them or a particular skill you would like to tell the children about please speak to Bev.
