BOSCA, has achieved the prestigious Investors in Young People Gold accreditation, the only people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people. This represents a true commitment to the training and development of young people and demonstrates BOSCA as an employer of choice for young people and testifies to their effective Youth Employment practices. BOSCA is the first out of school care in Scotland to be accredited with the Gold Award.
IIYP, Scotland’s only people management award focusing on employers’ recruitment and retention of young people, originated through a key recommendation from the Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce, led by Sir Ian Wood. Offered to all businesses across Scotland, the award recognises and supports organisations in the employment of young people.
Having now achieved the Gold accreditation, BOSCA is now eligible to use and display the Investors in Young People Gold logo and plaque, and enjoy its benefits.
Commenting on the award, Beverly Anderson, Manager said, “We are delighted to be recognised for the opportunities and support we provide young people during their employment at BOSCA.
Although the employment of students and young people can often result in a high turnover of staff we very much relish the fresh new ideas and experiences an ever-changing workforce can provide. This in turn means that BOSCA is an exciting and happy place for the children to play and have fun.
We give staff members the opportunity and support to gain relevant qualifications during their time with us and make the most of their specialities including, Arts, Drama, Animation and Web Design. We are always pleased to hear how staff members’ employment at BOSCA has been invaluable in getting them to where they are now.
